Your last job as the current committee is to ensure you handover to the new committee, this ensures your club continues to grow year on year

4. Club Handover

To ensure your club continue to grow year and year, your club/society will need to hold an Annual General meeting and handover to a new committtee, which will need to be completed by early April. Even if you recently set up your club/society, you will still need to run an election

We have created some guidance on how to run your AGM and election, however feel free to email suactivities@chi.ac.uk with any questions you may have.

Club handover to do list:

  • Hold an Annual General Meeting for your club members (see AGM guidance
  • Provide SU Activities with committee roles and date for your AGM for an online election for the 24/25 committee (see Club Election Guidance)
  • Complete a handover pack by the new committee with help from the current committee
  • Start budget planning month to month spending to discuss in your handover meeting
  • Arrange a handover meeting with SU Activities to discuss your plans for 24/25

The SU Sports within the Activities Department will be reviewing our competitive sports programme ahead of the 2024/25 season. We are also looking into additional development opportunities for sports teams to play fixtures on an informal basis outside of the BUCS programme. The BUCS deadline for team entries is normally the third week of April and therefore you need to contact us ASAP if you wish to request a new BUCS team for the 24/25 academic year.

All points above need to be completed by the 12th of April 2024 or we will not have the necessary information for the club to carry over into next year.
