Are you interested in playing sport? Would you like to play competitively for the University or recreationally with friends? Here at the University of Chichester we have a wide range of sports for you to play.

In addition to our clubs’ training sessions and competitive fixtures, the SU Activities Committee (a student led committee) organise events throughout the year for members. Highlights include varsity, Sports Tour, and ‘our flagship event’ The SU Sports Awards. We also have a number of charity events such as ‘wear it pink’ and ‘wear it blue’ nights in support of health and awareness raising charities.

When you join a sport club/team you become part of the WSIHE* family and have the chance to celebrate every Wednesday, whether you’ve won or lost, as this is when most sports fixtures for the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) league are played.

With our SU Clubs being led by students, you have a chance to become personally involved and could find yourself leading from the front as President or Captain of your chosen club.

If you are interested in setting up a new student group, please feel free to get in touch with the SU Activities team for further information (suactivities@chi.ac.uk) or you can also find the start up pack here

*WSIHE is the name for all our sports fed members and stands for West Sussex Institute of Higher Education, the old name for the University back when it first started, and is pronounced WISHY.

MEMBERSHIPS NOW ON SALE

We have a 3-tiered membership structure in order to join our clubs. The STANDARD membership allows you to join as many clubs at that level as you would like. As an added bonus, you can also join as a social member to Plus and Premier Clubs. Please visit the individual club pages where a banner is displayed to confirm the membership required for each club.

For some student groups you will be required to purchase either a PLUS or PREMIER membership. This is because the club receive additional support such as equipment (in order to run sessions), external facility hire, and external coaching to support the club.

The PLUS or PREMIER membership allows you to join ONE club at that level, but similar to the standard membership, you are able to join PREMIER clubs at a social level. If you wish to join two clubs at either the PLUS or PREMIER level, please contact us for further information.

Please be aware there will be a BUCS Bolt On membership later in the year (around December), this will be required to play competitive sport. We are unable to put this on sale at present as the competitive sports programme has not yet been finalised.

Further details of which membership is required to join each club can be found on individual club pages.
