Welcome Representatives (Rep)

Welcome Reps are each assigned a Hall and will be there when the new students arrive  on moving in day,  each day in Freshers' week and will support their students for the first 8  weeks of the Academic Year.

Welcome Reps will help all new students to settle in at university by assisting them in  getting to know each  other through ice-breaking games and socials, as well as providing  tips about living in halls/private  accommodation and generally answering any queries on  University life and directing students to support as  required.

Our Welcome Rep scheme has been in place for 6 years and continues to go from  strength to strength and is  a key part of how the University and the Students’ Union aim to  help new students settle in to University life.

The main aim of the scheme aim is to give all new students someone to talk to so that no  student is left feeling  excluded or isolated.

Starting University requires a lot of adjustment and our Welcome Reps intend to make this  exciting but  potentially challenging time run as smoothly as possible.
