American Football

Welcome to Chichester Spitfires American Football! Founded in 2013, the club has grown more and more throughout the years gaining a dedicated set of alumni and experienced coaches as well as creating our own mini Spitfire Family, once you’re with us – you’ve got a set of mates and a family for life.

The Spitfires are a mixed team with people operating at many different skill levels, it doesn’t matter whether you have or haven’t had experienced in American Football or contact sports before – all the training is provided at sessions! We are a lovely and welcoming bunch and provide a family and close-knit atmosphere. We competitively play in the BUCS South Division 2 with the oppurtunity to play more games in the playoffs with the chance of winning the division and moving up a league!

We have 10+ external coaches who have hailed from all around the area at teams such as Portsmouth Dreadnoughts, Sussex Thunder and Solent Thrashers. Our coaches are on shortlists for Team GB as well as other players going on to compete at Team GB level and beyond. There is a great amount of progression within the sport and is worth trying something new, even if you feel like you won’t enjoy it – we can assure you that you will! We also have players that go on to play senior ball over the summer, so if it is something you are really interested in then you can play with the Spitfires family at other teams or we can even contact your local team from your area to get you a spot.

Every Wednesday the team hold social events to keep everyone involved and have more fun outside of training, these socials include wearing a different dress up and going to WSIHE (the biggest event at the SU during the week). It does not matter if you drink or not, we still get you involved, as well as holding dedicated sober socials such as the Vestry quiz night or Flip Out Trampoline park.

If you feel like this is a bit of you then sign up!
