The Summer ball is your chance to dress to impress, let your hair down and attend the largest event on the student calendar. With over 2300 students in attendance, live music, silent disco, food stall, bars and funfair rides there is something for everyone.

WSIHE COME DANCING 🕺💃

A fun, lighthearted, student-led dance-off with all funds going straight back into your clubs and societies.

Each team has their own theme and song. Our judges score purely on vibes.

And when the dancing’s done? We keep the party going with FSIHE Friday 🌙

Searching will take place, this will take time so please arrive early to avoid long waiting times.

Please have your Student Card available and ready. Always Bring Valid ID as well (Passport or Driving Licence). The Student Union is a Licencsed Premises, it is a legal requirement to have ID.

GUEST POLICY

Each Student is permitted to sign in up to two guest per night. The Student must have their valid Student card on them, the guest must have valid ID (Passport or Driving Licence) to be allowed to sign in.

If a student signs a guest into either SU venue then they accept responsibility for their actions. If they act in an unacceptable way then the student may be punished by the Students’ Union. This may include:

Being barred from both SU bars
Being suspended from Clubs/Societies (Inc Sports teams)
Having to attend a disciplinary hearing
Paying appropriate fines

The guest will also no longer be welcome at the Students’ Union. Students should ALWAYS make sure they know the people they are signing in.

SU Awards 2026!

NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN! All nominations must be submitted by Sunday 19th April, midnight.

The Sports and Societies awards are back to celebrate the achievements of our fantastic students, teams and societies! Your Awards + WSIHE ticket will include a free drink on arrival.

This year the awards will be taking place before WSIHE so get ready for a big night of celebrations.

SU Awards - 6pm - 8pm

WSIHE - 8pm - Midnight

NB: WSIHE Wednesday will only be sold from 7:45pm on the day on first come, first served basis.

Please have your Student Card available and ready to enter. In the absence of your Student Card, Bring Valid ID (Passport or Driving Licence). The Student Union is a Licensed Premise, it is a legal requirement to have ID.

GUEST POLICY
