Please read: UCSU November Lockdown Statement - Wednesday 4^thNovember 2020. 

Later today, Wednesday 4^thNov, we are expecting the Government to announce that we will return into lockdown from 5th November until 2nd December at the earliest.

Our full-time officers and staff teams continue to work from the SU Offices (or home where appropriate) and can be contacted. Moyin and Jamel are very much still here to support you (supported by a number of SU staff and part time officers) and can be reached via social media or email (supresident@chi.ac.uk, suvpresident@ chi.ac.uk or studentsunion@chi.ac.uk).  

We understand that the next few weeks will be far from ideal and for some may present several challenges - we are continuing to work closely with the University, including the Student Support and Wellbeing team to ensure we can support you every step of the way. If you or a friend needs to talk to someone please email wellbeing@chi.ac.uk. The team are running virtual calls every Mon, Wed, Friday from 9.30-10am – join the conversation for wellbeing tips.  

If you need financial support, please visit the Money Matters page on the University Website and the further information on financial hardship - there are grants available. Please do not sit in silence or feel you are alone – reach out to the team either in Student Support, your Academic Department or within the Students’ Union, we are all here to support you.  

Zee Bar will close as of 10pm, Wednesday 4^thNov and both Zee and The Hub will remain closed until 3rd Dec, at the earliest. 

If you have pre-purchased any event tickets for either venue these will be refunded in full. Please allow up to seven working days for the refunds to be processed. Please be assured that as soon as we can and where possible we will start to reschedule events. 

The SHOP on Chichester Campus will remain open, however opening hours will change. From Thursday 5^thNovember opening hours will be 10am till 4pm. Opening times are subject to change; a further update will be made week commencing Monday 9^thNov.  

In the immediate short term, all forms of SU Activities will be suspended from midnight Wednesday the 4th November. We are working hard to understand what activities (if any) can take place whilst the University remains open. We are still awaiting further guidance to be released by the Government and National Governing Bodies, specifically around activities at Universities.  

As previously mentioned, our position will change as and when Government advice is issued. Please keep up to date with all our latest information online and social media, where possible please consult these resources before contacting the team.
