Societies offer the chance to meet people with similar interests, make friends and help you settle into University life. There are over 25 societies to choose from each offering a variety of events and activities. If you have a passion that the SU Activities doesn’t currently offer then start something new that likeminded students may enjoy.
All the information about SU Activities can be found below. You can see/join all our current clubs and find out how to set up a student group. If you can’t find what you are looking for pop into the SU on both campuses. We are here to help!
There are events across the year, including Freshers’ Fair, where you can talk to individual clubs and ask any questions you may have.
The SU Activities Federation (a student led committee) governs all SU Clubs, funding and support, as well as approving new student groups.
If you are interested in setting up a new student group, please feel free to get in touch with the SU Activities team for further information (suactivities@chi.ac.uk) or you can also find the start up pack here
MEMBERSHIPS NOW ON SALE
We have a 3-tiered membership structure in order to join our clubs. The STANDARD membership allows you to join as many clubs at that level as you would like. As an added bonus, you can also join as a social member to Plus and Premier Clubs. Please visit the individual club pages where a banner is displayed to confirm the membership required for each club.
For some student groups you will be required to purchase either a PLUS or PREMIER membership. This is because the club receive additional support such as equipment (in order to run sessions), external facility hire, and external coaching to support the club.
The PLUS or PREMIER membership allows you to join ONE club at that level, but similar to the standard membership, you are able to join PREMIER clubs at a social level. If you wish to join two clubs at either the PLUS or PREMIER level, please contact us for further information.
Please be aware there will be a BUCS Bolt On membership later in the year (around December), this will be required to play competitive sport. We are unable to put this on sale at present as the competitive sports programme has not yet been finalised.
Further details of which membership is required to join each club can be found on individual club pages.
