Job Title: Digital Content Producer – Student Staff
Reports to: Marketing & Communications team
Hours: Flexible hours 5+ per week
Salary: £12.50 per hour + 12.07% holiday pay
Location: Students’ Union Offices and Venues – Remotely from Chichester, Bognor and surrounding areas

About the Role:
We are seeking a creative, sociable and proactive individual to join our students’ union team.
As a Digital Content Creator, you will be responsible for producing short videos and engaging content for our TikTok and Instagram platforms.
The key audience will be your fellow students, and your work will capture the true student experience here at the University.
What you will do:
- Create content for UCSU’s main channels including Instagram and TikTok.
- Meet weekly with the SU team to discuss ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Build/develop your photography and creative software skills with inhouse training.
- Engage with our online community, respond to comments / DMs, build relationships with followers to foster a sense of community and increase brand loyalty.
- Attend SU events and campaigns to create content and other coverage.
- Work with Elected Officers, SU Staff and students to turn campaigns and events into engaging social media content.
- Create short videos (10-60 seconds) delivering a minimum of one video per month on a topic agreed with the marketing team.
- Help to build up greater engagement on our Instagram and TikTok accounts.
- Stay up to date with trends and popular topics that resonate with our student community.
- Write scripts, film, and produce high-quality videos that are visually appealing, entertaining, and shareable.
- Monitor and analyse how well your content does online. Stay up to date on algorithms, our Likes/Views and any platform updates that will allow you to plan videos that maximise engagement.

About us:
- UCSU is an independent charitable organisation that works alongside the main University. The Students’ Union team are constantly working with the University so that changes happen on campus.
- We are Student lead; we are run by students for students. Each year your elected student officers join our team to represent the needs and interests of all students studying at the University of Chichester.
- We provide opportunities such as sports clubs and societies, advice and support regarding academic and welfare issues, run a student-friendly shop and have bars on both campus’.
- We are a small but dedicated team of Staff and student officers who are passionate that all students feel represented have the best possible experience whilst studying.
Occasional Duties:
- To attend appropriate meetings as and when required by the Union.
- To attend ‘in house’ University Health and Safety Induction.
- To attend relevant conferences, seminars and residential training that may be held anywhere in the UK.
- To undertake general maintenance duties within the Union as requested by the Line or General Manager.

What advice would you give to new students heading to Chi Uni this year? Whether it’s practical advice, something funny or just some day to day tips that could help someone out, use this video as a chance to pass on your knowledge to the next generation of Chi students!
