Safer Communities Forum

Date: Thursday 02 December 2021
Time: 4pm - 5:30pm
Location: Mitre Lecture Theatre

The SU and the University would like to invite you to a Safer Communities Forum in the Mitre Lecture Theatre from 4:00pm – 5:30pm.

This forum has been created to follow a number of ongoing discussions with Chichester and Arun District Councils, Sussex Police and other key stakeholders. All parties are keen to work hard to ensure individuals are and feel safe in the community.

We would like to hear about your experiences and concerns around living within the local community - Chichester and Bognor. This is an opportunity to be heard and to raise questions, share good practice, and receive updates regarding community safety initiatives.

Dave Corcoran (Director of Students, Support and Wellbeing Services) and I will be hosting this forum. We ask that you consider potential issues/concerns or active solutions in advance of the meeting.  We know that we will not hold all the answers however we are keen to listen, share updates about what is happening within the local area, outside of the university estates. Most importantly we would like to listen and share your feedback with all relevant parties to ensure changes can start to happen within the community.

Chichester and Bognor are considered very safe communities, but in partnership, with smart intelligence sharing, targeted training and being respectful of difference we can move forward together with strength.

If you are unable to attend the forum and would like to raise something about either the local community or the University and the SU, please complete this form and we will take this on board.
