The Students’ Union Language café is an informal peer-to-peer language exchange for students by students, by giving them the opportunity to learn or practise a language in a sociable setting as well as teaching other individuals a new language.

How does it work?

If you want to sign up to the scheme, you need to click here and fill in the relevant application form for you. You can just drop into one of the Language Café sessions if you would prefer to see what it is about. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

If you are applying to be a Language Café Volunteer, a member of the Language Café team will review your application to ensure you understand the scheme. You will be invited to a meeting with the Activities & Fundraising Coordinator and the Students’ Union International Officer, to discuss the opportunity and evaluate your compatibility.

If deemed suitable for the role, you will then be invited to attend a training session to prepare for their role as a Language Café volunteer.

You will receive a confirmation email of your application with useful information about the scheme and a direct link to the Facebook page.

Where and When does the Language Café take place?

The Language Café is held once every 2 weeks on the Bognor Regis campus at the Students’ Union Hub as a 2 hour session.

There are also social trips and activities that are taking place around these sessions which can be found at here.
