University of Chichester Student, Lars Thorkildsen, has been selected to play for Rugby Europe XV against Poland in part of the Polish Rugby Federation’s 60th anniversary this weekend in Lodz.

The European XV is made up by players from 10 nationalities, of which 3 young Norwegian players were selected by Didier Retiere, (Ex Assistant Coach , France Rugby Union).

“Lars is becoming a very skilful player, developing a great mix of the physicality required of the forwards and the silky handling skills required of the backs. His understanding of the game means he is becoming a real leader of men, able to help his team mates get in to effective positions during the heat of the game. Well liked amongst his peers and always looking to develop himself and the national team, both on and off the pitch, Lars could no doubt become a fantastic captain in the future” Norwegian Rugby Federation

Lars will travel out on Friday and meet up with the squad in Warsaw for team briefing and dinner. He will take part in training Saturday morning, followed by team lunch and second training session. After the match they will all participate in the anniversary Gala Dinner hosted by the Polish Sports Federation and attended by dignitaries from World Rugby, European Rugby and the Polish Government. Before he flies back to Chichester University Sunday morning.
